Trade Associations: uPVC Windows & Door Installers:
It’s not only the price of installing replacement windows that should be considered, it’s also the cost involved in choosing the wrong company – putting things right “after the event” can be expensive in terms of both time wasted & unnecessary expenditure.
One front-line filter that you can apply is to look for installers that are registered with some of the big UK trade associations, this will at least give you a good indication that the installers take their reputation seriously enough to get pre-vetted & approved for competence, previous installation & financial stability.
Some trade associations also provide additional benefits for consumer protection guarantee schemes and access to the double glazing ombudsman.
Some of the highest profile associations are shown below:
- Glass & Glazing Federation (GGF)
- Fenestration Self-Assessment Scheme (FENSA)
- Certification & Self-Assessment (CERTASS)
- Double Glazing & Conservatory Ombudsman Scheme (DGCOS)
- Fairtrades Double Glazing Association
- The Glazing Ombudsman
Make sure your Installer is a member of one or more of the Approved UK Trade Associations.
